Crafty

We are always looking for fun craft projects to do around here (you know, because having full time jobs, a side business, families, homes and in one of our cases-horses, just isn't enough). Anyhoo, I we came across this tutorial for an adorable winter hat made from an old sweater. Here is the link: http://ahootandaholler.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/01/my-entry-1.html . The author is so funny with her descriptions and dialogue. We will be posting some of our own tutorials in the future, but for now we will mostly be linking to projects that we also want to try. Send us a picture if you make one and we will post it on our blog! Someone better make one of these in the next 3 months-you know, before it starts to get above freezing here in New York!

We are doing a small show on March 25th for the Empire State Lyric Theatre, so if you are interested in attending, please let us know and we will get you the information.

A Taste of Spring

Spring is in the air! We can say that now that it is in the low 30's instead of the teens. In reality, Spring is probably pretty far off for us here in upstate New York, but we are busy working on our Spring line so that we will be ready once the weather finally breaks. We have created some adorable appliques for the Spring line. Here are a few of them. If you would like to purchase anything please email us at sales@plaidalligator.com. As always, we are available for home shows and have a showroom that you can visit. We will be posting our show schedule soon, and adding additional dates as we get in the full swing of the show season.

The whole world should be monogrammed!

Do you agree with this motto? We sure do! Most, if not all, of our products can be monogrammed. There is something about monogramming that has just always made us happy. Monogramming makes things personal and adds a touch of class to any outfit, or accessory for that matter. When giving a gift, taking the extra time to get it monogrammed shows that you really put a lot of thought into the gift giving process. We are lucky enough to have a wonderful store that does all of our monogramming for The Plaid Alligator and also carries some of our line. The name of the store is Pink Stitches and Presents (how cute is that?!) in Rochester, New York. Please email us if you want the exact location. The owner, Suzette, is one of the sassiest ladies we have ever met. We are so grateful for her encouragement and friendship.

Welcome Friends!

We are excited to bring you our new blog. We are hoping to use this venue to keep our friends up to date on new products, happenings in our lives and also tips/tricks/craft ideas for our readers. Right now we (Amy and Sara) are working on our Spring and Summer line. We have created adorable appliques and have some great new fabrics, including Lilly Pulitzer. If you are new to The Plaid Alligator, we specialize in preppy high-end baby items including clothing and accessories. Let us introduce you to our "official" models-Emery on the left and Sophie on the right. Although they can be difficult to work with (aren't all models), the price is right! We love our babies (and our big kids too) and do this business for all the little prepsters of the world.
